Pylera Discount

What is Pylera?

Pylera is a combination medication that must be used in conjunction with an acid blocker such as any proton pump inhibitor medication. Pylera is used to treat stomach and intestinal ulcers that are caused by H. pylori. The medication comes in capsules that contain three medications: bismuth subcitrate, metronidazole, and tetracycline. Bismuth subcitrate is used to deal with an upset stomach, the other two medications are antibiotics that can deal with bacterial infections.

What are H. pylori?

Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) is a type of bacteria that is responsible for many infections that occur in the stomach. A peptic ulcer (stomach ulcer) is a well-known malady but what people do not know is that it is not caused necessarily by stress or “spicy foods” alone, but rather H. pylori is often the culprit. According to this study, almost half of the world has an H. pylori infection—with 30% of North America accounting for that.

Interestingly, many people do not realize that they have an H. pylori infection. You can have an H. pylori infection and not experience any adverse effects. It is theorized that some people have more resistance to the harmful effects of H. pylori than others. The symptoms of an H. pylori infection are as follows:

  • Stomach pain that gets worse when your stomach is empty
  • Loss of appetite
  • Nausea
  • Frequent burping and bloating
  • Weight loss that is unintentional or sudden
  1. Pylori Risk Factors

Risk factors for H. pylori are related to living conditions in your childhood—it is often contracted in childhood.

  1. Living in crowded conditions grants a higher risk of contraction.
  2. If you do not have a consistent supply of clean water, your chances of contraction are higher.
  3. If you lived in a country with poor infrastructure that resulted in unsanitary living conditions, your risk is higher.

How to Use Pylera

This medication is intended to be taken orally several times a day. Typically, this is 4 times daily after meals and once before bedtime for about 10 days. Each dose should be taken with a full glass of water unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Speaking of your doctor, these are all general guidelines for the medication. As always, consult your doctor before any beginning any regimen for dosing to acquire approval for proper medicinal usage. Since this medication is intended to be used in conjunction with an acid blocker, ask your doctor the proper methods and timings for when to take your acid blocker so that you can get the most benefit out of your Pylera prescription.

hot water bottle treating stomach pain

Xifaxan Cost

Xifaxan is a prescription medicine that helps many patients with irritable bowel syndrome symptoms such as abdominal pain and diarrhea. This is a powerful, prescription-only medication that provides significant relief from these side-effects. The price of Xifaxan, however, is staggering. Even with a Xifaxan coupon, the medication can cost upwards of $2,100. That is a serious price to pay to combat traveler’s diarrhea and irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea.

How does Xifaxan work?

Xifaxin (rifaxmin) works differently from many antibiotics. It passes through your stomach and into the intestines without being absorbed into the bloodstream. It treats travelers’ diarrhea caused by E.Coli in adults and children above the age of 12. Most people contract this type of bacteria by eating or drinking something that was contaminated with the E. Coli bacteria. Not only does Xifaxan treat irritable bowel syndrome, it can also help remove toxic substances from the body in adults that are suffering from liver failure. This is supposed to lower the risk of worsened brain function in adults with liver failure.

assorted pills and medicationSide effects of Xifaxan

Stop using rifaximin and call your doctor at once if you have:

  • Severe stomach pain and diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
  • Fever
  • Rapid weight gain, especially in your face and midsection.

Common side effects may include:

  • swelling in your hands, feet or midsection;
  • Nausea
  • Headache
  • Dizziness
  • Abnormal liver function

This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to the FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Xifaxin

According to the International Foundation for Functional Gastointestinal Disorders, as many as 15 percent of the American population suffers from irritable bowel syndrome. It is known as IBS for short. Xifaxan can help patients with IBS regain control of their life. IBS is a common disorder that can affect parts of the large intestine. Xifaxin helps control side effects of IBS such as cramping, abdominal pain, bloating, gas and diarrhea or constipation. IBS is a condition that you will need to manage long-term. Since it is a chronic condition, symptoms may vary in duration and intensity. You will want a monthly prescription of Xifaxin if you are suffering from this disorder.

When to see a doctor

You should see your doctor if IBS symptoms worsen. This may indicate a much more serious condition, such as colon cancer. Some of these symptoms can include:

  • Weight loss
  • Nocturnal diarrhea
  • Rectal bleeding
  • Anemia
  • Unexplained vomiting
  • Difficulty swallowing
  • Persistent abdominal pain

Xifaxin Cost

Xifaxin – without insurance – can cost upwards of $2,000 according to websites such as www.goodrx.com. That is including a manufacturers’ coupon! This is simply not affordable for the majority of Americans, insured or not. If YOU are under-insured or uninsured, we can help. We work with doctors, health care providers and pharmaceutical companies to help qualified patients get medication through prescription assistance programs. We understand that IBS needs to be controlled and sometimes Xifaxin can be the only right option for a patient. Lantus Prescription Assistance

Diabetes 101

Whether you have type I or type II diabetes, there is an underlying inability of the body to uptake sugar into the cells. This can result either from type I diabetes, which is autoimmune in nature, or type II diabetes, which involves insulin resistance. Insulin is produced in the body’s pancreas and is released in response to increased levels of glucose in the bloodstream. Insulin stimulates cells, primarily muscle tissue, to uptake the simple sugar (monomer) glucose and use it for cellular functions. This reduces the levels of blood glucose. Amounts of free glucose in the bloodstream must be tightly regulated by the body, as hyperglycemia (high blood glucose) can lead to complications such as blood vessel damage and resulting tissue starvation and injury. This is why injectable insulin medications for diabetes such as Lantus (insulin glargine) or Humilin are key to diabetes management.

Type I Diabetes

Type I diabetes is a condition where the body’s ability to produce its own insulin has been compromised or destroyed. It is usually early-onset, which is why type I diabetes used to be commonly referred to as childhood-onset diabetes. Most often with type I, the body fails to properly recognize the insulin-producing cells of the pancreas as belonging to “self.” When this occurs, the immune system mounts a campaign to destroy these cells, which are perceived as invaders. The autoimmune (or “self-immune”) reaction leading to type I diabetes destroys the body’s capacity to create the vital hormone insulin. After the condition has fully developed, the type I diabetes patient is reliant on exogenous (out-of-body) insulin like in order to function.

What Is Insulin Resistance?

Insulin resistance can be defined as a pathological condition in which cells fail to respond normally to the hormone insulin. In type II diabetes, the body still produces its own insulin in what should be adequate amounts. However, any number of mechanisms can make the cells which usually recognize insulin unable to do so efficiently enough. Genetic, environmental, nutritional and other factors can lead to the type of insulin resistance found in type II diabetes. So, while the pancreas is releasing insulin to allow cells to take in glucose, the cells themselves no longer have insulin sensitivity. As a result, a large amount of glucose remains in the bloodstream. This can cause a number of varied problems, and the symptoms caused by this excess bloodsugar usually leads to the initial diagnosis of diabetes.

How can Lantus Help?

Both of these conditions lead to the diabetes symptoms of increased appetite (polyphagia), increased thirst (polydipsia), and increased urination (polyuria.) These early but lasting symptoms may seem manageable but they herald more serious damage occurring in the body. Lantus (insulin glargine) is a popular, well-tolerated, long-acting insulin which reduces the need for frequent injections. It manages the levels of blood glucose all day. Instead of having peaks and troughs in blood glucose and insulin levels, this steady-release formula is injected under the skin and released slowly by the body. The ease of use and reduction of difficulty in managing diabetes as a result of using Lantus makes it a top-selling pharmaceutical.

Sylvant Manufacturer Coupon

If you’re looking for a manufacturer coupon for Sylvant, we can offer something even more effective.

Many patients diagnosed with MCD receive a prescription for Sylvant from their doctor but are unable to pay for the treatment due to the rising cost of medications. With little or no prescription health insurance coverage, many people are resorting to skipping doses of their needed prescriptions or forgoing treatment completely. This puts their overall health at risk and can lead to other medical issues. The RX Helper was established to help patients, just like this, who cannot afford their prescription for Sylvant and other needed prescriptions. Find out if both a prescription for Sylvant and The RX Helper’s programs are right for you.

What is MCD?

MCD, or Multicentric Castleman’s Disease, is an infrequently diagnosed illness in which the lymph nodes are affected. Lymph nodes are important because they help the immune system fight off foreign threats like bacteria and infections. The lymph nodes are hormone glands that secrete the necessary immune components; also affected by MCD are the lymph white blood cells and lymph vessels. The entire lymph system is attributed for carrying lymph, a white substance comprised of fighter immune white blood cells to the rest of the body. Those diagnosed with MCD produce more lymph cells than required, and as a result, the lymph vessels grow too large. This puts the individual at higher risk for developing lymphoma, a cancer of the lymphatic system. Although it is not known why individuals develop this rare disease, it is thought to be caused by a high amount of a specific protein found in those affected called interleukin-6.

Symptoms of MCD

Although many patients may not experience symptoms because they are diagnosed before they appear, some will experience symptoms before diagnosis. These symptoms can be brought on by experiencing infection or can appear individually and gradually. Symptoms of MCD include:

  • Expanded lymph nodes that can be seen or felt above the skin usually located around the neck, groin, and arms.
  • Exhaustion
  • Cold sweats
  • Fever
  • Weight loss
  • Loss of appetite
  • Swelling of the legs
  • Rashes
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Enlarged abdominal organs

Do I Have MCD?

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, contact your doctor right away. MCD is a rare condition and usually isn’t diagnosed until thorough testing and observations are made. Also, symptoms of MCD mirror symptoms of other illnesses, so your doctor will need to determine the issue through a process of elimination. During your visit with your doctor, he/she may:

  • Ask for copies of complete medical history
  • Complete a thorough examination
  • Administer various blood screenings
  • Administer various urine screenings
  • Administer various computer image scanning tests
  • Administer surgical biopsy of the enlarged lymph node

I Have MCD. What Now?

If you have been diagnosed with MCD, ask your doctor about a prescription for Sylvant. Sylvant is a prescription medication that is believed to work by stopping the overproduction of the protein interleukin-6, which is believed to be the main culprit in the development of the disease. The medication is administered to patients diagnosed with MCD once every three weeks through IV and takes about an hour to finish administration. Most individuals experience symptom relief after being prescribed this treatment, so make sure to ask your doctor if a prescription for Sylvant would be beneficial for you!

How Novolog Patient Assistance Can Help with Medication Costs

How Novolog Patient Assistance Helps with Medication Costs

What is Novolog?

Novolog is a prescription insulin injection to help with symptoms of type 2 diabetes. Prescription medication is provided to patients with type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are not enough to keep blood sugar levels down. Novolog patient assistance programs are provided for type 2 diabetes patients to help with medication costs.

What Does Novolog Do?

Insulin is a hormone produced by the body that is used to help process sugars in cells. People with type 2 diabetes cannot process sugars correctly because their insulin is not being used. This is known as insulin resistance. At first, a diabetic’s body will start to make more insulin to overcompensate. When this doesn’t work, the body slows down the production of insulin. Those that have had type 2 diabetes for years have very low insulin levels. This makes it hard to control blood sugar levels. Novolog works by administering insulin during mealtime to help the body utilize sugars in foods correctly and moderate sugar levels.

Novolog is prescribed to patients with type 2 diabetes that have particular mealtime blood sugar spikes. The Novolog epi-pen is a fast-acting insulin to help decrease blood sugar levels around meal time and works for around 3 hours. This man-made insulin closely resembles natural insulin in the body to promote a healthy lifestyle. Long-acting insulin can be taken with your Novolog prescription to keep insulin levels at a normal level throughout the whole day.

Novolog Usage

  • The fast-acting insulin is injected 10 minutes before eating a meal.
  • Do not change type or dose of insulin unless your doctor specifies.
  • Read and follow directions carefully.
  • Do not share your Novolog prescription or any other needle.
  • Tell your doctor if you are pregnant.
  • Regularly check blood sugar levels.
  • Do not take Novolog if your blood sugar level is too low.

Side Effects of Novolog:

  • Rash
  • Skin irritation
  • Weight gain
  • Swelling of extremities
  • Heart failure

Get emergency help if you experience loss of breath, rapid heart rate, or swelling of the mouth region.

Receiving Novolog Patient Assistance

If you have a prescription for Novolog and you have limited or no medical coverage, there is financial help available to you. At the RX Helper, we provide patient assistance programs to help those that need financial aid for prescriptions be able to afford their medications. All it takes is enrollment on our website to receive your Novolog patient assistance, or you can call us at 877-767-3297.
