It’s that time of year again! Can you feel the traffic? How about all of those yellow school buses? Here are a few tips to help your children have a successful and healthy return to the school system.

  1. Make sure your child has their medication. If your child suffers from a chronic condition such as diabetes or asthma, it is essential that they carry any necessary medication on their person.   7. Be a good role model to your child. It is a lot easier to suggest all of these things – a healthy diet, sports and exercise, doing homework and keeping up with household chores – if you are leading by example. If you’re walking the walk, your child is much more likely to listen to your advice.
  8. Assign chores. Make sure your child is not only physically healthy, but mentally healthy. Setting small tasks throughout the day (such as homework, making their bed, cleaning the living room and taking out the trash) can create a sense of accomplishment in your child and a sense of well-being in yourself.
